SMTP Email
Corporate mail users maybe interested in our SMTP mail feeds
rather than POP3 mail storage. SMTP permits direct delivery negating
the need to 'pull down' mail from a POP3 mail box.
We offer three type of SMTP feed:
- Direct via MX record
- Direct via MX record with SMTP backup
- Indirect with first level virus scanning and junk mail
filtering
Direct via MX record
This the simplest and least expensive option. As all mail is
handled via an MX record direct to your mail server this is a no
charge service.
Direct via MX record with SMTP backup
As above but an additional MX record back up mail to one of our
remote SMTP servers in case you mail server is off line for any
reason. Again, this is a non-chargeable service where your domain is
handled by us.
Indirect with first level virus scanning and junk
mail filtering
The primary MX record forwards mail to our primary mail server
which performs virus and junk mail filtering. After processing a
local host file the redirect the email to your mail server. In the
event of your mail server being off-line mail is spooled (for a
maximum of 3 days) until your server comes back on-line.
Redundancy is provided for by additional MX record(s) pointing to
our back up SMTP servers.
Cost is £120 +VAT per annum per domain.
