Testing your email for anti virus protection Whether you subscribe to the WiSSHost email protection system or not, it is always worthwhile checking that your email system is actually intercepting and isolating any inbound virus laden email. One way of doing this is to send yourself a virus. However, this can be dangerous and can lead to the risk of you inadvertently spreading the virus to other users, you won't win many friends doing that. You can send yourself the safe EICAR virus, this is a harmless text file with a viral signature that anti virus products should detect. See http://www.eicar.org/ for further information. An online utility provided by Declude offers this service.
